About

Ozark Christian Church is part of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination within the Stone-Campbell Movement, which emerged in the early 19th century. This church emphasizes covenant relationships, scriptural authority, and a welcoming, inclusive community. Rather than adhering to a central authority or doctrine, Disciples encourage personal exploration of faith, valuing diverse interpretations of scripture.

A key belief is Christian unity, rejecting mandatory creeds as tests of faith. Members affirm only a simple belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The church practices baptism (typically by immersion but recognizes all Christian baptisms) and celebrates the Lord’s Supper weekly, inviting all baptized Christians to participate.

Beyond these sacraments, the church recognizes other expressions of God's grace, including marriage, ordination, and anointing of the sick. Deeply committed to ecumenism, the Disciples of Christ seek to unite Christians in love and service, affirming that they are "not the only Christians, but Christians only."
