Navigating the Night Sky

From the Big Dipper to the North Star, it is exciting to gaze into the night sky and look for something familiar. But how do you know exactly when and where to look? David Jarkins of the Springfield Astronomical Society teaches students just this using DIY Planispheres. After building and learning how to use your planisphere, attendees will walk the grounds of Finley Farms to search the sky before returning to the Workshop for Q&A and complimentary snacks.
