Field Trip: Guided Hike at Golden Prairie Natural Area (Adult)

Library patrons are invited to a free guided hike at the Missouri Prairie Foundation's Golden Prairie, a National Natural Landmark and a designated Missouri Natural Area. Join hike leader Jerod Huebner, Director of Prairie Management for the Missouri Prairie Foundation, and explore this original, unplowed prairie near the town of Golden City, MO and learn about the Missouri Natural Areas System, recognizing its 40th anniversary in 2017. Participants will need to provide their own transportation or arrange to carpool with other participants. We'll meet at the library no later than 9:00am and caravan to the location. Bring a sack lunch. The hike and tour will be on fairly flat terrain, but comfortable shoes and long pants are recommended. Meet at Library at 9:00am to follow; Hike begins at 10:30am.
